Professor Anosike stated this while welcoming some participants at the four-day training workshop for Regional WIGOS Centres in WMO Regional Association (RA 1 – West Central Africa), to his office in Abuja.

“Thank you for the work you do. Our people are excited that the WIGOS workshop is being hosted in Nigeria. Having listened to the conversation on requirements for the centre to become operational, I am happy to announce that the process described fits into the work we are doing already, especially the Quality Management System (QMS) that NiMet already has in place”, Professor Anosike said.

The leader of the delegation, Mr Bernard Gomez, WMO representative for North Central and West Africa appreciated Professor Anosike and NiMet for volunteering to host the WIGOS Centre in Nigeria.

He said, “I am delighted that NiMet is committing to do this. This is a community service for the African countries and others that will be benefiting from data generated at the centre. There is a team of experts from across Africa and the world to support NiMet with this”.
