The chairman of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) Ikeja Chapter, Otunba Adebayo Oke, has urged key players in the marketing sector to steer clear of all forms of malpractices in the nation’s marketing sector and work towards generating value for consumer empowerment and societal development.

The chairman said this at the third annual public lecture of NIMN while appreciating fellows, full members, and associate members for playing part in ensuring that the chapter continues to play its role as a foremost chapter in the country.

According to Oke, stakeholders and professionals in the marketing industry need to broaden and deepen their knowledge and practice of marketing as they interrogate present issues concerning the industry in fruitful and constructive exchange.

“We call on intending members and students to rise and shine and assume as guiding lights to dispel all forms of darkness in the practice of marketing in our country towards creating  value for consumers empowerment and society’s development,” he.said.

Oke believes the public lecture was unique in every sense because it was happening at a time when there has been a major shift in the nation’s political situation.

“There is a need for re-tooling and re-engineering of business processes, strategies, and standard operating procedures by all stakeholders to ensure new wine is put into new wine bottles.
