Born in Agege, a bustling suburb of Lagos State, on March 6th, 1994, born Adebajo Oluwanifemi Adebanjo, popularly known as Niphkeys hails from a Christian household deeply rooted in music.

Introduced to the art form at a young age, his passion for music blossomed early on. During his formative years, Niphkeys harbored a deep admiration for Kanye West, and as he fell in love with music production, he found inspiration in the works of renowned producers like Young John and Pheelz.

His educational journey took him through Legacy Villa Primary School in Alagbado, followed by Good Shepherd Comprehensive High School for his junior secondary education, and Providence Heights Secondary School in Iju for his senior secondary studies.

However, it was during his time as a soil science student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, where he graduated with first-class honors, that his trajectory toward becoming one of the industry’s premier producers truly took flight.

Just as BNXN, YKB & Emo Grae, Niphkeys is also a product of one of the parallel brands that in recent times has shined the light on the budding talents “Ejoya Music”. Through his participation in the program in 2020, he gained valuable insights into the inner workings of the music industry, including its business aspects and the dos and don’ts of the game.

The tumultuous year of 2020 brought unprecedented challenges to people worldwide with the onset of lockdowns and the looming presence of the pandemic. However, amidst the chaos, Niphkeys found himself soaring to new heights in his music career. For him, 2020 was not just another year; it was an extraordinary chapter filled with achievements and groundbreaking collaborations.

During this pivotal year, Niphkeys forged connections with industry titans, marking a significant turning point in his professional journey. Rubbing shoulders with giants of the music industry, he seized opportunities to showcase his talent and expertise, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of Nigerian music. With an impressive portfolio of production credits, he solidified his reputation as one of the most sought-after producers in the business.

Before his groundbreaking collaboration with Stormzy on the “Hide & Seek” remix featuring Rema in 2023, Niphkeys had already left an indelible mark on the music scene. His production prowess had graced tracks by esteemed artists such as Zinoleesky, BNXN, Zlatan, Naira Marley, Mohbad, and many more, solidifying his status as a formidable force to be reckoned with in the industry.

Post pandemic, Niphkeys had done great for himself by bagging an HEADIES nomination in 2022. This moment marked a significant milestone in his career, further affirming his status as a hitmaker. With chart-topping songs like “Kilofeshe,” “Koleyewon,” “Feel Good,” and “Backside,” Niphkeys has consistently delivered. His versatility shines through in collaborations with artists such as Fave, Zlatan, Reekado Banks, Buju, Seyi Vibez, DJ Consequence, and DJ Jimmy Jatt.

His latest work is “Tension” with the young budding artiste, Boy Tiphe is currently receiving massive airplay. This Apala-tinged track further underscores Niphkeys’s versatility and his knack for exploring a whole lot of sounds.
