The statement, signed by the Public Relations Officer, Tajudeen Taiwo Akintunde, extended the Institute’s solidarity to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Umar Saidu; the Correspondents’ Chapel; the affected media organisations, Channels Television, AIT, NTA, ARISE, BATV, BRC, among others, as well as the families and colleagues of those affected.
The NIPR also commended the prompt and compassionate response of the NEDC, Bauchi State Government under the leadership of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, as well as the coordinated intervention of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, and the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. “At this difficult moment, the NIPR Bauchi State Chapter stands firmly with the media community,” the statement added.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants healing to the injured, comfort to their families, and continued protection to journalists and media practitioners as they discharge their vital responsibilities to society.
