NIPR FCT Institutes Annual Best Graduating Student Prize At Baze University

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, has instituted an Annual Best Graduating Student Prize in Mass Communication at Baze University as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between academia and the public relations profession.

The initiative was announced during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the institute, led by the Chairman of the NIPR FCT Chapter, Mr. Stanley Azuka Ogadigbo, to the Vice-Chancellor of Baze University, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi.

Welcoming the delegation, Adeniyi described the award as a commendable investment in academic excellence and the professional development of future communication practitioners.

The Vice-Chancellor also conveyed the goodwill of the University’s Chancellor and Founder, Senator Datti Baba Ahmed, while reaffirming Baze University’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that promote quality education, professional excellence and national development.

Beyond the newly established annual prize, both institutions agreed to expand their collaboration through professional mentoring, specialised training, capacity-building programmes, industry engagement and other initiatives designed to equip students with the skills required for successful careers in communication and public relations.

Discussions during the meeting also centred on the forthcoming World Conference of Public Relations, scheduled to hold later this year.

Baze University and the NIPR pledged to work closely to ensure the success of the conference, describing it as an important platform for advancing professional discourse, strengthening international collaboration and showcasing Nigeria’s contributions to the global public relations profession.

Adeniyi commended the institute for its forward-thinking approach and commitment to nurturing the next generation of communication professionals, noting that sustainable excellence in higher education depends on strong partnerships between universities and professional bodies.

The visit further reinforced the relationship between Baze University and the NIPR, with both organisations expressing optimism that the partnership would create lasting opportunities for students, strengthen the communication profession and support the university’s mission of producing graduates distinguished by competence, integrity and innovation.
