Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, NIQS President, QS Kene Nzekwe, emphasized the strategic importance of the facility, describing it as a hub for professional development and a revenue-generating initiative.

“This Resource Center will serve as a training ground, a library, and a knowledge-sharing space for both our members and the public. It reflects our commitment to advancing our profession and contributing to Nigeria’s socio-economic development,” Nzekwe stated.

The multipurpose facility, equipped with advanced ICT tools, offers a training capacity for up to 30 individuals and aims to generate revenue through events, consultancy services, and training programs.

Nzekwe expressed gratitude to past presidents, board members, and government officials, including the Honorable Ministers of Housing and Urban Development and the FCT, for their support in bringing the project to fruition.

“This center is more than just a building; it is a testament to our dedication to professional growth and innovation in quantity surveying,” Iortyer noted.

A goodwill message delivered by Ola Garvba underscored the critical role of data and professionalism in reshaping the construction industry.

“This facility is not just for professionals but a platform to gather essential data that will shape policy and correct narratives about Nigeria’s housing and infrastructure needs,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and expertise in the sector.

Former NIQS President (2010-2013), Chief Felix Okereke, praised the accomplishment as extraordinary and commended the council for their vision and dedication.

“This resource center is a testament to what collective efforts can achieve. It is not just a venue; it is a symbol of the institute’s potential to elevate the construction industry,” he said.

As the event concluded, the Resource Center was hailed as a transformative step for the NIQS and a beacon for innovation in Nigeria’s construction sector.

Attendees expressed optimism about its impact on fostering professional excellence and supporting the nation’s built environment.

The Resource Center is expected to open its library in the first quarter of the coming year, signaling the institute’s unwavering commitment to creating an ecosystem of learning and development.
