NIS Intercepts, Hands Over 3 Victims Of Trafficking To NAPTIP

The Illela Border Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has confirmed the rescue of three suspected victims of smuggling and human trafficking.

The Comptroller of Immigration at the Illela Border Command, Ismaila Usman, handed over the victims, all females between the ages of 20 and 28 to the Zonal Commander of NAPTIP in charge of Sokoto and Kebbi states.

The suspects who were on their way to Oman were apprehended at the Kajiji Patrol base along the Kebbi-Sokoto road without any valid travel documents.

Two of them are from Lagos and one is from Ogun States.

While handing over the victims, the Comptroller stressed that his Command is fully ready and committed to fighting human trafficking and smuggling of migrants in Sokoto State.

Usman also commended the NIS Comptroller General, Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap and the Minister of Interior, Dr Tunji Ojo for their commitment to stop all transborder criminal activities, especially trafficking in person and migrants smuggling.
