The Nigerian Immigration Service has called on border communities in Jigawa State to support it with useful information on crimes to safeguard the country’s territorial integrity.

Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mrs. Kemi Nandap, made the call when she visited border communities in the state.

While interacting with members of the communities in Maigatari local government of the state, Mrs Nandap said national security is a collective responsibility, and every good citizen has a role to play, particularly by sharing useful information with relevant security agencies.
She expressed concern about the increase of human trafficking along the country’s borders.

“The border communities have a significant role to play in supporting Immigration and other security agencies to tackle the menace of the human trafficking which some unscrupulous and inhuman minds people turned it into business.

“In this regard, I’m pleading with the members of the NURTW and NARTO to please assist us in monitoring and providing information on any suspicious passenger at motor parks because most of these embarrassing activities are being carryout through our roads,” she said.
