The Nigeria Labour Congress Political Commission (NLCPC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) said they have formally joined forces with the Labour Party to mobilize support for the 2027 elections.
Speaking during the party’s summit on Wednesday in Abuja, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Vice President and Acting President of the Labour Political Commission (NLCPC), Comrade Okoro Stephen, assured that the new arrangement will ensure serious mobilization and registration of its members under the Labour Party to build a strong political structure.
Stephen commended Labour Party leader Senator Nenadi Usman’s collective leadership approach and reaffirmed the NLC and TUC’s commitment to supporting the party’s progressive agenda.
“We will work towards achieving the dreams of the founding fathers and mothers of the party,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the party’s grassroots presence and mobilizing workers and progressive Nigerians to join the Labour Party.
Stephen urged party members to prepare for the challenges ahead, saying that “no labour, no food” and that the party is “about to take off.”
