The Nigeria National League (NNL) has revealed its intention to recognise prominent government officials for their significant contributions to sports development and grassroots football across the nation.
Set to be honoured at a ceremony in Abuja on 30th March 2026, alongside the NNL/Prostar/Sportlight hub monthly awards, are Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Governor of Plateau State; Reverend Father Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Governor of Benue State; and the Honourable Sadiq Mamman Lagos, Commissioner for Local Government in Kaduna State.
The NNL states that these accolades aim to celebrate leaders who have shown unwavering dedication to football’s growth, especially at the grassroots, through vital infrastructure development, youth engagement, and supportive policies.
The event will also include the presentation of monthly player awards, acknowledging exceptional performances within the Nigeria National League.
Key figures in Nigerian football, including sports stakeholders, club officials, and enthusiasts, are anticipated to attend this important gathering. Organisers highlight that this initiative underscores the crucial partnership between government bodies and sports organisations in fostering sustainable development within the sector.
