As he takes over as president of the Rotary Club of Abuja Metro (RCAM), Rotarian Ifeanyi Nnodu has promised to lead an open-door administration that is built on integrity, transparency and accountability.
Nnodu gave the assurance yesterday at his investiture as the 13th president of Rotary Club of Abuja Metro and fund raising on Thursday night at Sheraton Hotel in Abuja.
“We will operate an open-door policy and total quality management system involving everyone. Our mantra will be transparency, integrity and accountability,” Rotarian Nnodu said, adding that his leadership will welcome suggestions and advice to take the association further. “We will listen attentively and take godly decisions that will Move the club to greater heights.”
He said past presidents of the club have laid strong foundation for the club. He appreciated them for putting together a robust 5 -year strategic plan that enables the Club to run seamlessly.
Nnodu promised to sustain the steam and fly the flag high as he pilots affairs of the humanitarian club. “We will ensure that our activities during the year align very well with the strategic plan.”
This document has guided the club to maintain the stipulated standard by Rotary International,” he stated.
As an organisation of business and professional people, committed to upholding the highest professional ethics, Nnodu promised to ensure that as a club “we will live out the object of Rotary to the last word. We will do what we say and showcase what we do.
He stated that there will be no room for violation the club’s golden 4-Way Test, which he said attracted him to Rotary. THE 4-WAY TEST is to guide their decisions and actions. He said all memebers must strive to apply it unconditionally in all that they do and at all times.
The event also featured award ceremony for some people who have distinguished excellence in service to humanity.
Earlier, Senator Eze Ajoku who was chairman of the occasion described Nnodu as a goal getter who is highly experienced in problem solving. “Nnodu I know is a man who having set his hands on the plough does not look back. In ae my church where we both serve as elders; he is known for his commitment to duty and to a good course, straight forwardness, and very knowledgeable about how to solve problems,” Dr Ajoku stated.
Ajoku who said Nnodu is a man of integrity and highly respected, added that Rotarian Nnodu, is a committed and dedicated member of this Club with passion for community service and we friendship. “I am aware of the community driven activities of Rotary Clubs to promote peace.”
The club said it was doing the fund raising to carry out some projects in areas of maternal and child health, purchase wheel chairs, provide orthotics for polio victims, build peace workshop for secondary school students, among others.
