The majority leader of the Kano state Assembly, Hon. Husseini Dala, has said there is no rift between the Kano state governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, and the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Hon. Dala made this known on Monday while responding to questions filed by Journalists at the Assembly complex.

According to him, the duo’s relationship is like a father-son relationship. He noted that the rift allegations were fabricated and spread by enemies of progress outside the state.

He also clarified that there is no rift between the Kano state Assembly, the governor, and the leader of the Movement, stressing that their relationship remains cordial, as opposed to what is being spread by mischief makers who are eager to destroy it.

“Some people are all out and sponsored far away from Abuja to come and create resentment in Kano; to distort the cordial relationship between the legislative arm of government and the governor, leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement and Engr. Abba Yusuf. The relationship between Engr Abba and Engr. Kwankwaso is a father-son relationship.

“By the Grace of God, they will feel ashamed of what they were doing and fail,” he stated.

On the Assembly’s position on calls for the governor to be independent, the majority leader emphasised that the governor is independent and governing the state as he had already taken the oath, noting that those making the calls intend to create a crisis in the state.

He said those behind such calls will fail and never return to power, emphasising that the governor and Assembly members are utterly loyal to Engr. Kwankwaso.
