Southern Kaduna People’s Union, SOKAPU, has dissociated itself from any upcoming protest seemingly directed against the administration of Governor Uba Sani.
The union’s national president, Tabara Kato, revealed this during a courtesy visit to the deputy governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House yesterday in Kaduna.
He expressed satisfaction with Governor Sani administration’s policy trajectory and lauded the equitable and inclusive execution of projects across the state.
Commending the administration’s rural transformation initiatives, Kato emphasized that the implementation of the SUSTAIN Agenda signifies a new era for Kaduna State and that no son or daughter of Southern Kaduna will be part of the planned protest as the leadership of the Union is moving around to ensure no protest in the zone.
He stressed the need for unwavering support instead of engaging in protests, stating, “All we need in this country and Kaduna State is what will stabilise it; enough of protest.”
Kato highlighted the importance of fostering positive engagements with Nigerian citizens, focusing on the country’s positive developments and challenges.
While emphasising their commitment to the governor’s SUSTAIN Agenda, he urged security agencies to stay vigilant, cautioning that such protests might disrupt public peace.
In her response, the deputy governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, commended SOKAPU leadership for the visit and for taking a stand against any planned protest because one can only know where his actions begin but cannot predict where they end.
