Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the FCT minister of state, Dr Ramatu Aliyu has assured residents of Abuja that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will not deprive anybody of exercising their franchise.
The minister who made this known yesterday during the inauguration of the FCT Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Abuja, urged the executives and members of the campaign council to ensure that they educate the voters across the six area councils of the FCT.
According to Aliyu, no voters will be deprived of exercising their franchise because the government of the FCT is resolute to protect voters and the polling units and protect the votes of voters.
“To allow you to exercise your franchise, you are encouraged to ensure you first and foremost, collect your PVCs. The PVC is a weapon through which you actualise the vision of a better Nigeria. Secondly, voters’ education is necessary,” she said.
The FCT minister of state charged the PCC FCT to lead the campaigns to every nook and cranny of Abuja and ensure that the FCT votes massively for Tinubu/Shettima and all candidates on the platform of the APC from bottom to top.
“When we ask Nigerians to make their choice and cast their votes, Nigerians renewed hope starts with the work you will do from polling units to polling units, from ward to ward, from local government to local government, from state to state.
“Teamwork is required. I have been humbled by your commitment and loyalty to the party. Your steadfastness to a progressive future, build lights and cameras in a place where your name may not be called.
“This is your election too; we are all candidates and it is our collective agenda. We are representing our people. I do not doubt that we will continue to remain vigilant till victory is assured. We must remain vigilant till victory is assured,” she said.
Earlier, the FCT APC chairman, Alh Usman Abdulmalik appealed to residents of Abuja to support and vote for the party in all the elections so that they can collect power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the territory.
