Nollywood Actor Solomon Akiyesi Passes Away

Veteran Nollywood actor and producer, Solomon Akiyesi, has died. He was reported to have passed away in his sleep on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Abubakar Yakubu, confirmed the incident on Monday. He stated that the actor died in Abuja and his remains have been deposited at a mortuary while the guild awaits further details from the family.

“Yes, it is true. He died yesterday. He slept and did not wake up. His body is in the morgue in Abuja, where the sad incident happened,” Yakubu said.

Akiyesi, a native of Akoko-Edo in Edo State, was a seasoned performer who joined the Nigerian film industry in the late 1990s. With a career spanning over two decades, he featured in more than 100 productions, earning a reputation as a versatile character actor.
