Normalcy Returns As New Niger NSCDC Commandant Assumes Duty

The protest that erupted as a result of the death of 37 artisan miners in NSCDC detention has gone down even as new commandant of the corps in the state, A. S. Kabara assumed duty yesterday.

Our correspondent observed that most of the shops at Tunga market and Top Medical Junction have reopened while residents of the area were going about their usual businesses yesterday.

The normalcy was restored following the 12-hour curfew that was strictly observed on Friday and expected to continue by 6 pm yesterday.
