Thirteen political parties in Benue State have passed a vote of confidence on the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Dr. George Akume, praising his leadership and commitment to the state’s development.
Each party been represented came to agreement in a statement read by the representative of the Zenith Labour Party, Simon Ogbe on the 49TH anniversary of Benue state.
In the statement, the political leaders highlighted the state’s struggles and triumphs, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation among stakeholders to foster growth and good governance.
The group urged Governor Hyacinth Alia to avoid distractions and collaborate with past leaders to gain valuable insights for better governance.
“We condemn attempts by groups or individuals to undermine the integrity of Senator George Akume.
“We unanimously declare our confidence in his leadership and emphasize the need for continued unity among political stakeholders in Benue and across the north-central region,” Ogbe said.
The declaration concluded with a resounding “Aye” in support of the motion to adopt Senator Akume as a symbol of effective leadership for the state.
Also In attendance were Benue state APC chairman Austin Agada, chairman G14 PDP elders forum Laha Fever and Christopher Tarka who represented the SGF.
