The Northern Christian Elders Forum (NOSCEF) has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on their completion of the holy month of Ramadan and the joyous celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

NOSCEF said both Christians and Muslims must work together to promote peace, stability and national cohesion, stressing that diversity should remain a source of strength, not division.

In a statement issued by NOSCEF chairman, Sunday Oibe, yesterday, the forum called on all Nigerians to remain resilient and united, supporting one another across religious and ethnic lines as families and businesses face increasing hardship due to economic pressures.

On 2027 polls, NOSCEF urged political leaders, institutions, and citizens to commit to non-violence, respect for the rule of law, and the unity of Nigeria before, during, and after the elections.

Oibe, however appealed to the government at all levels to intensify efforts in addressing the pressing security concerns and to implement sustainable economic policies that will alleviate the suffering of the people, restore confidence, and ensure inclusive growth and development.

The statement reads in part, “The Northern Christian Elders Forum (NOSCEF) congratulates our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and the joyous celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

We pray that the Almighty God accepts your devotion, sacrifice, and steadfastness throughout the sacred period of fasting, prayer, and charity and blessed you abundantly.

“As you mark this significant occasion, we urge that Eid-el-Fitr be observed as a period of sober reflection on the enduring values of love, compassion, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

These virtues remain essential in strengthening our bonds as one people and one nation.

At this critical moment in our country, Nigeria continues to grapple with serious security and economic challenges.”

NOSCEF added, “Many communities are affected by insecurity, while families and businesses face increasing hardship due to economic pressures.

We call on all Nigerians to remain resilient and united, supporting one another across religious and ethnic lines.

“Furthermore, as the nation gradually prepares for the 2027 general elections, we emphasize the importance of peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral processes.

Once again, we wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters a blessed and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration,” the forum added.
