Northern Christian Youth Professionals have extended their heartfelt congratulations to Nentawe Yilwatda on his emergence as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yilwatda, who served as minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, was elected by members of the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) during a high-level meeting held in Abuja.
The chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma, nominated him for the position, and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, seconded the motion.
The motion was then put to a voice vote and passed by NEC members present at the meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
His emergence came at a time when the APC aims to consolidate its hold on power at the federal level and in some states whose governors recently defected to the ruling party
In a statement yesterday, the group’s Chairman, Isaac Abrak, described the development as a testament to divine will and political destiny.
“Don’t tamper with the flow of destiny.
“If anyone had ever told Nentawe he’d be APC Chairman in 2025, he would’ve laughed it off and said, ‘No, I’m going to be Governor,’ he said.
The chairman noted that, from a logical standpoint, contesting and winning a governorship seat appeared more realistic for Yilwatda. However, “destiny had other plans,” Abrak stated.
“God has ordained you for this position. He has tooled you to execute it perfectly”
Abrak assured the new chairman of the group’s continuous prayers and support.
