Northern Christians/Muslims Pass Vote Of Confidence On Tinubu, Akume, Namadi

The Coalition of Northern Christian and Muslim Support Group has voted of confidence in President Bola Tinubu, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, and Jigawa state governor Umar Namadi for their efforts in addressing security and economic challenges.

The Coalition of Northern Christian and Muslim Support Group for Tinubu passed the vote of confidence at a one-day youth leadership summit in Abuja on Wednesday, where they said contrary to fears from some quarters, the Muslims-Muslim has brought unity, peace and progress to the country.

Speaking at the event, National Publicity Secretary of the Coalition, Dauda Mathias, lauded Tinubu’s pragmatic steps in tackling insecurity and poverty, which were more rampant in the north, saying the establishment of North-west and North-central development commissions would further consolidate development in the region.

“We criticised Mr President objectively and offered advice on what will be required to put Nigeria on the path of development, as Mr President does in employment and appointments of our youths. You will agree with me that over 60% of appointees in Nigeria are not just people who have potential but youths.

“I want every Nigerian to know that the responsibility of fixing Nigeria does not entirely lie on one man but everyone out there. But that which lies solely on the shoulders of Mr President, number one is security, and you will agree with me that gradually and steadily, Nigeria is beginning to recover her lost ground in security

“Once the security issue is addressed, everything will naturally fall in place. School students will continue with their studies, farmers will continue with their farming activities, there will be food security, and, of course, businessmen will go freely about their activities.

“Mr president has given the other tiers of government – state and local government- the independence to operate without being coerced or intimidated. That is why the executive governor of Jigawa state, instead of taking for granted the opportunities, tries to drive back the benefits.

“For instance, if you go to Jigawa state, you see that Jigawa is the poorest state; you will hardly see the Al-major or less privileged people in the state. That has been taken care of by Number One Farming. Number, the governor of Jigawa state was the first to organise an economic summit where people were taught how to maximise resources.

We are saying this to motivate others.

“This coalition is the only coalition that has brought together Christians and Muslims across the 19 states to chart the course on how to provide a credible platform for our children. The Muslim Ticket that so many people thought would divide this country is even bringing unity, peace and development. Ever since Mr President came on board, I have never seen where Muslims and Christians clash…,” he added.
