The chairman of the Northern Caucus, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, who disclosed this in a statement yesterday, also condemned the sad incident.

The caucus, however, commended the commitment of the Nigerian military and other security agencies for their patriotic zeal to combat the upsurge of insurgency, banditry and other criminal activities that plagued some parts of the country.

The caucus also resolved to pay a condolence visit to the state government and the leaders of Tudun Biri community in order to get “first hand insights of what actually transpired and enable it garner useful information with a view to forestalling future occurrence.”

According to Doguwa, the Caucus commended the Tinubu-led federal government for promptly reaching out to victims and for taking charge of the victims’ welfare as well as its intention to rebuild the ill-fated community.

“The Caucus is poised to provide the legal framework for the compensation, and also ensuring that families of those that were killed are adequately captured in the compensation scheme.

“The Caucus appeals to the affected community and the leaders to remain calm and law abiding while thanking the government and governor of Kaduna Sate for keeping to their responsibility of protecting law and order in the state,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto and president-general of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has insisted that northern leaders would not relent until justice is served for the victims of the recent incidental airstrike in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State.

The Sultan made the position known yesterday at the opening of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam Central Council Meeting which took place at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna, the Niger State capital.

The royal father, who said political leaders must do what is good for the people, reminded leaders to be wary of the day they will give account for their deeds.

He said, “As I said on Friday when we visited Kanfancha, the place of the incident, luckily the Chief of Army Staff was there; I made clear that we will not sit idle until we see that justice is done to those who were killed in the incident.”

Whilele decrying the state of roads in Niger state, he called on political leaders to fear Allah.

“They should know that they will be called to account for their stewardship. Therefore, they must do what’s right.

“I would like to use this opportunity to inform the world or inform Nigerians and the government of Nigeria that the Suleja-Minna Road is still crying for attention. And, of course, the Minna-Bida Road was a nightmare for us when we went to Bida. Therefore, I call on the Minister of Works to complete the work on Minna-Suleja Road. These roads that people use every day are a nightmare,” he declared.

In his speech, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed appreciation to the Sultan of Sokoto for helping to calm frayed nerves over the Tudun Biri bombing mishap.

While Maiduguri, Borno State, he expressed his condolences once again to the families of Nigerians who lost their lives in the recent and sad bombing mishap in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State, saying that most of the victims tragically lost their lives while reciting the Shadada as they observed Maulud, a central statement of faith for practising Muslims.

“They were Nigerians of profound faith and at the moment of the tragedy, they were reciting the Shadada. God Almighty comforts their families as their nation grieves their passage into glory. May their souls rest in eternal peace,” the president prayed.

Speaking at the palace of the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, the president, in a statement by Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, pledged that the federal government will continue to do all within its powers to provide support and care to the families of all Nigerians affected by the remnants of insecurity in parts of Borno State.
