The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) has called on the National Assembly to review Nigeria’s bilateral contract with China, following the recent seizure of three presidential jets.

“Given the gravity of this situation, we urge the National Assembly to urgently conduct a comprehensive review of all contracts between Nigeria and China, including those signed by the Federal Government, State Governments, and any agreements with the Chinese government or private Chinese companies,” the chairman, Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP), Isaac Abrak said in a statement.
NCYP said it was deeply concerned by the seizure of Nigeria’s valuable assets such as the three presidential jets and two residential properties in London.

“These assets are not only of significant value but also symbolise our national sovereignty and pride.
Their unlawful seizure undermines Nigeria’s interests and international standing.

“We strongly urge the National Assembly, as the legislative authority and a key arm of government, to collaborate closely with the federal government to protect Nigeria’s foreign assets from such predatory actions. It is crucial that every agreement is thoroughly scrutinised to prevent further economic losses and safeguard the nation’s wealth,” the groups said.
