A group, Concerned Northern All Progressives Congress Youth Forum has enjoined fellow northerners to support the minister of works, Dave Umahi in his ongoing road projects in the country.

The forum’s chairman, Hon. Suleiman Liba, at a meeting over the weekend, cautioned against a campaign of calumny against the minister.

He urged northern brothers at the meeting to discuss the progress of the north under the present government, that soon all the six geopolitical zones will benefit from the ongoing road rehabilitation in the country.

Liba described the minister as a detribalised Nigerian who wants the best for the country irrespective of region, which he said is evident in the construction works going on in parts of the north, especially the North-west and North Central, adding that adequate measure is already in place for work to commence in every part of the North.

He said Umahi holds the interest of the entire north at heart having toured with the minister to the North West and North Central parts of the country hence they should drop the misconception that Umahi is only a minister for the South.

“The minister has the north totally in his working plan and if there’s anyone to tell you this, that person should be me.

“He was only recently in Benue and massive construction works has commenced there as well, the minister will still tour every part and region of the country, so I plead with you all to drop the misconception that Umahi is only a minister for the south,” Liba said.

He urged the good people of the North to exercise some patience as the good work will get to every region of the country.
