Katsina United have announced plans to hold a minute silence in their matchday two encounter for the displaced people of Maiduguri.
The Chanji Boys made the announcement on their X account.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Maiduguri due to the recent flood that displaced so many people in the state,” reads the statement.
“As a result, we decided to sympathise with the affected by conducting a one-minute silence this weekend before the commencement of our match with Bendel Insurance.”
Katsina United will host Bendel Insurance at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium on Sunday.
DAILY POST reports that thousands have been left homeless as a result of the flood.
The incident has also forced Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, to postpone El-Kanemi Warriors clash with Kwara United indefinitely.
