The coach of Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin, Monday Odigie, has resigned his appointment with the club.

It was gathered late on Thursday that Odigie submitted his resignation letter to the club secretary, Mr. Charles Ihimekpen shortly after the Benin Club-side lost 2-3 to Rangers International of Enugu last Sunday.

A source close to the team said Odigie wanted to resign on Match Day 10 encounter against Sunshine Stars of Akure.

But the outcome of the match, which Insurance won 2-1 on the road, prevented that from happening.
It was scooped that the gaffer, prior to his resignation as Bendel Insurance handler, went to Akure and Enugu, and returned alone without following the team.

Insurance is currently occupying the bottom of the 20-team league, following its Week 12 loss to the reigning NPFL Champions, Enugu Rangers.
