NRC Deploys Additional Security Personnel To Patrol Railway Tracks

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has deployed additional security personnel to patrol the  Standard gauge railway tracks from Lagos to Ibadan, as part of efforts to curb activities of vandals reputed for removing Pando Clips used in holding railway tracks firmly to the ground,

This is coming against the backdrop of the recent removal of the Pandom Clips by unknown persons penultimate Monday which led to the stoppage of the Lagos to Ibadan standard gauge passenger during transit three times.

Confirming this development, Lagos District manager of the corporation, Engr. Augustine Arase, said more security personnel from the Nigerian Railway Police and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps have been deployed to patrol the railway tracks so as to avert future reoccurrence that led to the stoppage of the train for about three times penultimate Monday.

According to him, the driver of the train had, during transit from Ibadan to Lagos, noticed that some Pandom Clips have been removed and decided to stop the train so as to avert derailment, adding that, after informing the signal and communication department about the development, the driver was later given clearance to continue the journey.
