NSCDC Arrests 3 Streetlight Cable Vandals In Kano

Operatives of the anti-vandalism unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested three suspected vandals in the state.

Spokesperson of the Command, Ibrahim Idris who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, said two of the suspects were arrested at the Eid Ground by its officers on night patrol duty.

“The suspects – Sunusi Musa (30) and Musbahu Habibu (32) were arrested in the night around 1630hrs on Wednesday while melting a large caches of streetlight cables they vandalised and stole at Koki Quarters, Kano municipal LGA, Kano State.

“Similarly, another arrest was made at Race Course Road, Nassarawa GRA, Kano. The suspected vandal, Muhammad Ado (47) was caught while packing a vandalised streetlight wires at Race Course Road, Kano by 1100hrs,” Idris said.

While urging the public to desist from vandalising national assets, Idris said however that anyone found wanting would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He added that the suspects would be prosecuted in court at the completion of investigation.
