NSCDC’s Spokesperson, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

Abdullahi said the arrests were made by personnel from the Fagge Divisional Office of the NSCDC at Sabon Gari, Bata, France Road, and Murtala Mohammed Way.

According to him, the suspects were found with stolen goods worth thousands of Naira, which have since been recovered by the authorities.

The statement also said that operatives of the NSCDC, with the assistance of good Samaritans, seized several items alleged to have been stolen by hoodlums during the protest at the State and Iyaka Roads in the Gyadi Gyadi area of Kano.

SC Abdullahi added that investigation into the case has commenced and that legal actions will be taken at the completion of the investigation.

LEADERSHIP reports that miscreants under the guise of protesting broke into several stores and stole foodstuffs and others items in Kano.

The protesters also vandalised public and private property resulting in severe property damage which informed the imposition of a 24-hour curfew in the state by the Kano State Government.
