The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has honored the chief executive officer of News Engineering Nigeria Limited, Lady Josephine Nwaeze, with the Honorary Fellowship (FNSE), the highest a member can attain in the society.

Nwaeze during her conferment in Abuja  reaffirmed the commitment of News Engineering, a 40-year-old indigenous electrical engineering company, to work assiduously in promoting excellence in the engineering sector as well as the entire infrastructure value chain while contributing to the progress of Nigeria.

According to her, her conferment has shown that the little they are doing as a company is recognised in society.

“Even as a non-engineer, I am very passionate about the engineering profession because I run an engineering company, and I love providing innovative solutions,” she said.

Nwaeze promised to maintain the highest quality standards and continue providing engineering solutions that promote sustainable development in Nigeria and the welfare of engineers.

She said at 40, News Engineering is only getting started and plans to achieve even greater feats in the coming years, adding;  “News Engineering is now ready to make more great news.”

The president of NSE, Engr. Tasiu Gidari-Wudil, during the conferment, said Lady Nwaeze was conferred with the honourary fellowship because of her contributions to national development through her company.

“The honorary fellowship is given to recognised non-engineers who have contributed a lot to the development of engineering, and someone the NSE has recognised to have made a great impact on the engineering profession.

“Lady Josephine Nwaeze manages an engineering company that has employed over 200 engineering personnel. We recognised News Engineering as a contributor to the development of engineering in Nigeria.

“Apart from the engineering projects that they have completed, News Engineering is a firm member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, a very valued member and Lady Nwaeze has played a significant role in bringing the company to where it is today, having successfully executed numerous engineering contracts, particularly in the Nigerian power sector,” he added.
