The North South Power Foundation (NSPF) in charge of Shiroro Hydro Power Dam has donated food items to victims of the recent flood disaster in Mokwa, Niger State.
The consultant on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Mr Hassan Abdullahi, led the delegation to hand over the relief items to the Niger State government in Minna.
Abdullahi revealed that the donated items included , 50 bags of 25kg rice, 50 bags of 25kg beans, 50 bags of 10kg semovita, 50 cartons of spaghetti, 50 bags of salt, 50 cartons of Maggi, 50 gallons of 5kg Kings oil, and 50 gallons of 5kg palm oil.
He noted that the donation was aimed at mitigating the suffering of the displaced families.
He stated, “We extend our deepest condolences to you and the people of the Mokwa community, may the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.”
Abdullahi disclosed that the company has spent over N1 billion on Corporate Social Responsibility within the host communities in Shiroro and Munya and also supported internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across the state.
The commissioner for Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Alhaji Suleiman Ahmed, appreciated the effort and concern of the foundation, promising that the relief items would be delivered to the victims.
