NSSF Picks 25 For ISF World School Cup In China

The Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF) has picked 25 players at the national trials for the 2024 International School Sport Federation (ISF) World School Cup for girls taking place in Dalian, China from May 16 to 27.

Over 300 girls from secondary schools across the country participated in the two-day trials held inside the main bowl of the National Stadium, Surulere.

Faith Irabor, member of the football committee of NSSF, was particularly excited with the talents displayed by the students while commending the NSSF for making the selection transparency
National U-15 coach who led the technical crew in the selection process, Usman Ilerika, lauded ths structure put in place to select the players by NSSF while expressing optimism that the final list would make the country proud in China.

President of NSSF, Olabisi Joseph has charged well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations to support the NSSF in sponsoring the country’s contingent to the World School Cup.
Speaking at the end of the trials organized to select students that will represent Nigeria at the U18 girls football tournament in China, Joseph hailed the smooth organisation of the screening exercise while also commended the turnout of students while revealing that 25 students were selected at the end of the successful trials.

She however, expressed excitement on the quality of talents showcased by the students.

The NSSF boss stated that the team will resume camping in Abuja in order to prune the team to 16 that will make the trip to the World School Cup, while she solicited for support to ensure that the team excel and make Nigeria proud Nigeria in China.

Joseph stated further that the World School Cup will provide an opportunity for the girls to showcase their talent at the global event and expressed optimism that the country will do well at the international championships.

The ISF WSC Football event for U-18 girls will take place in Dalian, China from May 16 to 27.
