NTIC Students Bag Record-Breaking Of 80 Medals In Maths Competition

The Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) Schools have maintained their tradition of excellence in the 2022/2023 first round of National Mathematics and Sciences Olympiads by winning a record of eighty (80) gold, silver, and bronze medals in five (5) states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This achievement brings about a record of NTIC schools to be the only schools with the highest number of medals won in the first round of this competition from Lagos, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, and Yobe States.

 

According to the analysis of the results released by National Mathematical Centre-Abuja, NTIC Schools are the best in mathematics in Lagos, FCT. Abuja, Kano, and Yobe States.

 

They also broke a record of having the highest participants/number of students to qualify for the second round of the competition totaling to 202 students.

The break-down is as follows:

 

NTIC Yobe Boys and Girls: 78 Students

NTIC Kano Boys and Girls: 58 Students

NTIC Lagos, Ogun Boys & Girls: 42 Students NTIC Abuja Boys, Co-Ed and Girls: 19 Students NTIC Kaduna Secondary: 5 Students NTIC Abuja schools outshine other schools in the F.C.T. at the award ceremony of the first round of NMC Olympiads competitions.

 

A total of 19 NTIC Abuja students qualified for the 2nd round and 8 of them were awarded with 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 3 bronze medals.

 

Okafor Izuchukwu God’swill (Senior Mathematics Olympiad – SSS3) and Okwe ThankGod Ukpata (Junior Mathematics Olympiad – JSS2) won gold medals; Ezebube Chukwunwike (Junior Mathematics Olympiad – JSS 3), Salihu Abubakar Bakari (Biology Olympiad – JSS3) and Sochima Chukwudi (Senior Mathematics Olympiad – SSS3) won silver medals and Amina Garba Ladan (Biology Olympiad – SSS1), Chukwuanukwu Kachisikwu Patrick (Physics Olympiad – SSS3) and Isioma Marvelous Iduh (Junior Mathematics Olympiad – JSS 1) won bronze medals.

 

Some of the outstanding achievements by NTIC Abuja students in this competition include: “One JSS3 students: Salihu Abubakar Bakari clinching the second best in Senior Biology Olympiads in the FCT, having the highest number of students to qualify for the second round of Junior Mathematics Olympiad in the whole of Abuja FCT,10 out of the 23 students that qualified.

 

“Having one of the youngest students-Luis Lu (JSS1) who qualify for second rounds of both Junior Mathematics and Informatics Olympiads in the FCT from his first experience.

 

“Having one of its youngest students- Isioma Marvelous Iduh (JSS1) who clinch the third best student in Junior Mathematics Olympiads in the FCT from his first experience.”

NTIC Abuja Schools also clinched the awards of Best Schools in Senior Mathematics and Junior Mathematics in the whole of Abuja FCT.

 

The school expressed confidence that its students would be representing Nigeria in the upcoming prestigious International Biology, Chemistry, Informatics, Mathematics and Physics Olympiads.
