NUJ Greets Gov Bala Mohammed Over His Re-election

Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has described the reelection of the state governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in him by the people of the state.

This was contained in statement jointly signed by the council chairman and secretary, Umar Sa’idu and Isah Garba Gadau respectively and made available to LEADERSHIP in Bauchi.

The statement said even spread of people-oriented projects of the governor across the state, informed the decision of the people to grant him another chance, to consolidate on his past achievements.

The NUJ Bauchi Council which wished he governor a successful tenure in office, urge him to put political differences aside and carry everybody along for the continuous progress and development of the state.

The union also enjoined the governor to focus more attention on resuscitation of the state-owned media organisations as well as the engagement of casual workers within to address the brain drain syndrome facing them as well as to extend more hands of friendship to other sister media organisations in the state.

While assuring the union’s continuous support to the present administration, the statement, however, calls on its members to carry out their constitutional roles with decorum as anyone found wanting, will be penalised.

The council reminded the governor on the need to redeem his pledge of reconstructing its state secretariat to create a conducive environment for members to operate effectively.
