Leadership of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State, has pleaded with Governor Ademola Adeleke, to restore the operation of the union in motor parks in the state.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after a meeting of members of the Union across the state in Osogbo yesterday, a branch chairman of the union, Comrade Oyewale Kazeem aka Asiri Eniba lamented the economic downturn of members of the Union in Osun.
According to him, since the construction of park managers in parks across the state, operational activities have remained paralysed thereby making it difficult for them to make ends meet.
He also called on the South West zonal chairman of the union, Comrade Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo to look at their plight in Osun state and come to their aid.
While commending the state police command for creating an enabling environment for members to hold their meetings without molestation, he urged members to be united and have the courage to stand for the union.
While addressing members, Oyewale reminded them that NURTW is not a political party hence the need for members irrespective of their political affiliation to come together to build a solid union that can stand the test of time.
He encouraged branch chairmen across the state to lead well and be steadfast to the cause of the union by holding meetings regularly.
