Former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, has endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen Aishatu Dahiru Binani and his son, Sen Abdulazeez Nyako, as best candidates for governorship and Adamawa central senatorial seat of the state.

Nyako, who spoke with Binani’s supporters at his residence shortly after arriving at the state capital yesterday, said he was specifically in the state to congratulate Binani for emerging as APC governorship candidate.

“We are optimistic that she (Aishatu) would deliver her campaign promises to the people of the state. I’m glad about her emergence as the first female governorship candidate in Nigeria.

“By mere looking at her, you’d know that she is knowledgeable enough to govern the state even as we need leaders that can be prudent in handling national resources judiciously.

The former governor, who arrived the state in company of Binani, urged people of the state to rejig their behavioural pattern towards electing leaders that would develop the state and Nigeria at large.

Nyako stressed that he would not blame any particular regime or administration for Nigeria’s poverty which he said had started building up long ago, praying that God would change the situation for the better.

In her response, Binani lauded the former governor for training her politically and promised to uphold the former governor’s virtues at any given time.
