The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) have congratulated Senator John Azuta Mbata on his election as the president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
In a statement yesterday, the NYCP chairman, Isaac Abrak, expressed confidence that Mbata’s vast experience in public administration would significantly contribute to addressing the challenges of insecurity and violence in the Southeast region.
He highlighted the former lawmaker’s distinguished service in the Nigerian Senate, particularly on key committees like Defense, Finance & Appropriation, and Works & Housing.
“Senator Azuta-Mbata’s leadership will undoubtedly further secure the region and stimulate economic growth for Ndigbo and Nigeria as a whole,” Abrak said.
The NCYP, a coalition of professionals from Northern Nigeria, emphasised the valuable contributions of the Igbo people to Nigeria’s economy and global standing, especially through their entrepreneurial spirit.
“We are confident that under his leadership, the legacy of the Igbo people will continue to thrive,” the statement reads.
The NCYP extended its support to the new Ohanaeze president-general and the Ndigbo community, pledging collaboration to advance national development, religious tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
The group said, “We look forward to working together to build a more united, prosperous, and harmonious nation.”
