Adakosa told newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State yesterday that NYLC’s mission was  to provide a technologically-driven platform for competitive soccer league competitions, showcasing talented players to the global football community and facilitating player transfers.

Launched in 2024, NYLC aims to become Africa’s fastest-growing youth league, boasting over 1,000,000 members, participants, and followers across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Adakosa said the NYLC was a youth development programme focused on providing top-tier football competition for individuals between the ages of 15-19 (U-19).

He explained that the league was aimed at developing future professional and international players through top-tier player development pathway, league and knockout season competitions as well as development-focused initiatives.

“NYLC welcomes individuals from all walks of life, regardless of financial capabilities, location, or participation level.

“We pledge to support youth football development, assisting local academies in need and fostering stronger finances through player transfers and sponsorships.” Adakosa emphasised.

In a groundbreaking move, Adakosa explained, the NYLC partnered with Wyscout, the world’s leading football analytics platform, utilizing AI-powered cameras across match venues.

“This cutting-edge technology will provide in-depth player analysis, real-time match data and at the same time enhanced scouting capabilities.

“This partnership elevates NYLC’s standards, providing players with global exposure,” Adakosa added.
