NYSC Lauds Army As Orientation Camp Reopens In Borno After 13 Years

The Borno State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Comrade Mohammed Adamu Jiya has lauded the Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Gold Chibuisi, his officers and men for their resoluteness in restoring peace and normalcy in Borno State and the entire North East region.

The State Coordinator who paid a courtesy visit to the TC appreciated the Command of OPHK for supporting and facilitating the reopening of NYSC Orientation Camp in Borno State after its shutdown in 2010 during the wake of Boko Haram insurgency in the North East region.

Mohammed further stated that the reopening of the Orientation camp is an evidence to Nigerians and the World at large that adequate peace and normalcy has returned to the ‘once most insecure region’ in Nigeria.

Moreso, he thanked the TC for the deployment of adequate security personnel within the Orientation Camp and environs and further solicited for more synergy between the Theatre and NYSC, Borno State.

In a similar development, Corps members serving in various military formations and facilities within the Theatre’s Area of responsibility in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) also lauded the feat attained through the efforts of the military.

The Corps members who paid a courtesy visit to the TC disclosed that in previous batches, Corps members posted to Borno State go to Katsina State for their Orientation Camp before reporting to Maiduguri where they would be subsequently deployed within the MMC.

Speaking during the visit, Maj Gen Chibuisi stated that OPHK is committed to its operational mandate and will continue to ensure that people go about their daily activities without fear or threat.

Furthermore, he assured the scheme of his unending support, adding that his doors are always open to them anytime.

The TC encouraged them to give the nation their best during their service year and leave a legacy wherever they are deployed as their primary place of assignment.

Maj Gen Chibuisi charged them to be innovative and committed to adding value to their lives and the nation at large.
