Garba while welcoming corps members to Benue state, said the National Youth Service Corps has four cardinal programmes, the orientation course is the first which formally ushers them into the service year.

She explained that the course was designed to adequately equip corps members with the knowledge they need to navigate through the service year and beyond, “It is highly regimented, comprising physical trainings, intellectual/motivational lectures, sporting activities, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training”

“I am highly honoured and delighted to welcome you all to the occasion of the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony of the orientation exercise for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members deployed to Benue State and the dislodged corps members from the FCT Abuja for the one-year mandatory National Service.

“Today marks a significant milestone in the lives of these young graduates as they formally take the oath of allegiance and commit themselves to the service of our great nation. This ceremony is not just a tradition but a solemn reminder of the responsibilities, discipline and patriotism expected of every corps member.
