Obasanjo, Makinde, Dangote, Others For Adeleke’s Chieftaincy Conferment Today

Dignitaries  including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja ll, will today  converge on Ede for the conferment of chieftaincy title of Asiwaju of Edeland on the governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The event  will also mark the 64th birthday of Governor Adeleke and the launch of appeal fund for the construction of palace for Ede.

It will also have in attendance the chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the chief executive officer of Bovas Petroleum, Mrs. Victoria Samson, business mogul and philanthropist, Mrs Folorunso Alakija amongst others.

The chairman, Central Planning Committee of the ceremony, Senator Lere Oyewumi, who disclosed this at a press conference in Ede yesterday, said the Timi of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa l in collaboration with the Timi-in-Council will confer the title on Adeleke in appreciation of his contributions to the  development of Edeland in particular and Osun State in general.

The first civilian governor of Osun State who was also an elder brother to the incumbent governor, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, was the last occupier of the prestigious title of Asiwaju of Ede until his death in 2017.

 

 

 

“While we rejoice and radiate in the glory of God for being good to our governor for sparing his life to live to be 64 years and as we pray for more years of fruitful service to God and humanity for him, it gladdens my heart to add that the programme will also be used to launch a multi-million naira appeal fund for a modern palace for the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa I”, Oyewumi said.
