Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is set to arrive Zamfara State this week to commission key infrastructural projects as part of the state government’s ongoing development drive.
According to a statement released on Monday and signed by the spokesperson for the Zamfara State governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, he said Obasanjo is scheduled to inaugurate the newly upgraded Yeriman Bakura Specialist Hospital on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
The hospital, which has undergone a comprehensive renovation, now boasts state-of-the-art medical facilities and modern equipment, aimed at improving healthcare delivery across the state.
In addition to the hospital, the former President will also commission newly completed roads within the GRA area of Gusau, the state capital. These roads form a significant part of the administration’s broader urban renewal project, which seeks to transform critical infrastructure and improve urban mobility.
“These projects reflect the commitment of the current administration to delivering quality infrastructure and revitalizing essential services in Zamfara,” the governor’s spokesperson noted in the statement.
The visit by the elder statesman is expected to boost the visibility of the state’s ongoing development efforts and foster national support for initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Zamfara State residents.
