Mr Joseph Oboh has emerged the new president of South Korea International Cooperation Association Nigeria (SKICAN) Alumni and pledged his readiness to lead the organisation into a new era of growth and collaboration.
Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency, KOICA Nigeria, Mr Son Sungil, said SKICAN alumni who had undergone training under the CIAT programme in Nigeria came together to celebrate their annual reunion.
“These remarkable individuals have left an indelible mark on various sectors in Nigeria, from energy to transport, agriculture to technology, education to administration, and governance,” he said.
He said the impressive achievements of SKICAN alumni was a testament to the CIAT programme’s effectiveness and the unwavering dedication of its participants.
“This year’s alumni gathering marked an election year, resulting in the election of nine new officials and Mr. Joseph Oboh as the new president of SKICAN,” he said.
The country director expressed pride in SKICAN’s achievements and encouraged the newly elected executive to uphold the legacy of their predecessors in the Association’s continued growth.
Mr. Sungil also reaffirmed KOICA’s commitment to providing unyielding support for the association’s progress.
The immediate past president, SKICAN, Mr. Rabiu Adamu expressed gratitude to the country director for the cooperation extended throughout his tenure.
During his address, he unveiled the new SKICAN Magazine and website, which have become the go-to platforms for alumni updates and insights. The Magazine was formally launched in the presence of former SKICAN presidents, Mr. Isa Hussani and Mr. Fidelis Ntufam.
Mr. Joseph Oboh said the alumni gathering was not merely a celebration of past achievements but it served as a platform for the alumni to reconnect, share their experiences, and lay the foundation for collaborative efforts to shape a brighter future.
