The legal battle is between former finance minister Chief Anthony Ani and the sitting treaty king of the Efik Kingdom, Etubom Ekpo Abasi Otu.

The court fixed yesterday for the ruling on the interlocutory application by the claimants in suit No. HC/278/2023, which involves Etubom Essien Ekpenyong, Etubom Okon, and Etubom Micah Archibong.

At yesterday’s session, the court rescheduled the ruling for June 26, 2024.

However, before yesterday’s sitting, the court adopted the interlocutory application from the claimants before adjourning for judgement but rescheduled judgement to a new date to finalise it.
