Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, has appointed Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo as the vice chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.
The governor also approved the appointment of Dr Salihu Sanusi Avidime as the new rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
In a statement released by the secretary to the state government (SSG), Ogbo’s appointment followed the expiration of the tenure of the former vice chancellor, Prof. Marietu Tenuche
Until his appointment, Ogbo was the rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, a position he served meritoriously, restoring the institution’s lost glory through improved academic standards.
Ogbo, a professor of Political Economy and Development, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment.
The governor, while appreciating the outgoing vice chancellor for her remarkable achievements and service to the state, congratulated the new vice chancellor on his appointment, urging him to build on his predecessor’s achievements.
Meanwhile, Avidime is an experienced Nigerian scholar in Political Science, holding a B.Sc. (Hons) from Usmanu Dan Fodio University; a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Bayero University, Kano; an MSc in Public Finance from the University of Calabar and a PhD in Political Science from Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.
The governor congratulated the new rector on his appointment and urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him.
