A businesswoman, Remi Odunsi has unveiled plans to establish two digital skills and enterprise centres to train 10,000 youths, alongside legislative efforts to expand women’s access to finance and initiatives to improve healthcare delivery, particularly for women and children.
Odunsi, an All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant for Kosofe Federal Constituency in Lagos ahead of the 2027 general election, disclosed the plans on Monday as key components of her seven-point legislative agenda.
Odunsi (née Oluwalogbon) told journalists in Abuja that she intends to scale up her philanthropy in the constituency by leveraging public office as a federal legislator.
She said, “I have been doing this work for years without holding public office. Imagine what becomes possible when someone with a genuine passion for service and a heart for the people is elected into the National Assembly. If we are to transform lives at scale in Kosofe Federal Constituency, we must have a seat at the table—particularly at the National Assembly, where laws are made, and policies are shaped.
This is why I am in the race for the House of Representatives.”
Odunsi also pledged to advocate increased federal infrastructure investment in major markets within Kosofe and to support the formalisation of 3,000 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), linking them to credit facilities and digital commerce platforms.
The aspirant, widely recognised for her work in community development—particularly in skills acquisition and empowerment programmes—has led initiatives that impacted over 4,000 beneficiaries across Ketu, Ikeja and Epe in 2023.
She also partnered with Lotus Bank in 2024 to train and grant funds to market women through the Street Business School initiative.
Through her “Threefold Impact” initiative, Odunsi has facilitated the installation of solar-powered boreholes across Lagos, Ogun and Ibadan, supported school renovation projects, and reached more than 5,000 families through annual food distribution drives.
A recipient of the 2023 Yessiey Philanthropist of the Year Award, Odunsi said she would leverage her private sector experience and global networks to deliver effective representation.
“Kosofe has the people, the commercial energy and the geographic position to be something remarkable. What it has needed is representation that matches its potential. I am a woman you can trust. Kosofe’s best chapter has yet to be written. I am asking for the opportunity to help write it,” she added.
Odunsi holds a degree in Management and Accounting from the University of Ife, is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and has attended executive programmes at Lagos Business School and other international institutions.
She is the founder and chief executive of Eridan Group and serves on the boards of several organisations.
