As the traditional rulers remain paramount in the daily affairs in their kingdoms, the Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and His Imperial Majesty, Dr. Gregory Nnamdi Oputa, Obi Oputa III of Aboh Kingdom in Ndokwa East of Delta State, have resolved to ensure transformation of the lives of the people in their kingdoms.
The Olu, who received Obi Oputa III and his council of Chiefs at his palace in Warri, said the people’s welfare and well-being remain the primary focus of any leader because they are entitled to enjoy good governance. Speaking on both Kingdoms’ memorable, cordial, and historical ties and cooperation, the Olu called for both Kingdoms to keep it going for posterity‘s sake.
Meanwhile, Obi Oputa III of Aboh kingdom, Dr Gregory Nnamdi Oputa, described the role played by traditional rulers as strategic in shaping society by embarking on critical developments and also influencing the development of their kingdoms.
He maintained that as custodians of the people’s cultural heritage and examples to the people, they will not relent in leading their people in the right direction.
The monarch also explained that he and his Council of Chiefs visited the Olu of Warri to discuss ways to bring more development to their people. He commended the Olu of Warri‘s efforts for the peace and development of his kingdom and applauded the reception given to him and his entourage.
However, Obi Oputa III said that he encountered some challenges before his ascension to the throne, and God intervened. Therefore, he would not disappoint the God who helped him and the people of the Kingdom who stood by him and trusted him to ascend the throne.
He also added that he would do everything within his ability, with God‘s help, to ensure the people enjoyed the best of reign and that they would embrace and accept God into their lives and activities because God is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
