Ogun LGAs Get N5.6bn Allocation For July

A total sum of N5.6 billion was shared among the 20 local government areas of Ogun State as the statutory revenue allocation due to the state from the federation account for the month of July, 2023.

The accountant-general of the State Treasury, Babatunde Aregbesola disclosed this while speaking yesterday during the state’s July 2023 edition of the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting held at Conference Hall of the Obas’ Complex, state secretariat complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Aregbesola said the total sum included the Statutory Allocation Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), Exchange Difference, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), as well as the Exchange Rate Differential.

The Ogun Accountant General further explained that a total of N4, 497, 940, 852: 41 would be required to pay the first-line charges, which included the Primary School Teachers’ Salaries, Local Government Staff Salaries and Allowances, Traditional Councils, Pensions, among others.

In his own contribution, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi tasked the 20 local governments chairmen not to relent on their oars, but to continue to uphold the tenet of good governance by being “prudent and transparent in their dealings” at their respective council areas.
