The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general election in Ogun State, Ambassador Olufemi, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to strengthen the fight against corruption.

Oguntoyinbo who spoke with newsmen after his investiture as the patron of the Oyo State Correspondents Chapel in Ibadan called for the arrest and prosecution of politicians found to have embezzled public funds while in office and not after their tenure.

He also advocated for a bill to compel aspiring political officeholders to sign undertakings which when breached, will attract jail terms to serve as a check on their conduct.

Oguntoyinbo said politicians should be made to sign an undertaking, saying “if we failed to put such in place, many politicians will come and go without any improvement in the nation.

“If I signed a bill of undertaking that if I failed, send me to jail, I think that is what would help us and not after somebody finishes his or her term in office, we now start making arrests for not performing.
