President-general of apex igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator Azuta Mbata, has congratulated a former secretary-general of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, on the occasion of his 93rd birthday.
In a statement signed by the national publicity secretary of Ohanaeze, Dr Ezechi Chukwu, Mbata said Anyaoku’s life of service, integrity and global statesmanship remains a towering testament to the excellence, intellect and leadership values of Ndigbo.
Mbata averred that the outstanding contributions of the elder statesman to international diplomacy and national cohesion continue to inspire generations across Nigeria and beyond.
“Chief Emeka Anyaoku is a living symbol of patriotism, icon of national unity, disciplined leadership and global relevance. His life affirms the boundless capacity of the Igbo spirit to serve humanity with honour, wisdom and distinction.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo joins family, friends and admirers worldwide in celebrating this remarkable milestone and prays for continued good health, peace and strength for our community,” he said.
