A former spokesman of apex Igbo social-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu, has threatened to sue the Lagos State government over the recent reported renaming of some streets and the Charly Boy Stop in Lagos.
Ibegbu made the threat in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Enugu.
He expressed dismay over the development, describing it as barbaric.
Ibegbu warned against ethnic profiling in Lagos State.
Ibegbu warned the Lagos State government to stop supporting the change of street names in Lagos.
Ibegbu who expressed shock over the development called on President Tinubu to call the Lagos State government to order before the world begins to see the perpetrators “as ethnic bigots and irredentists.”
Ibegbu, who recalled the ethnic actions of some hoodlums in Lagos after the 2023 elections, warned that the unity of the country is at stake with this development.
“The status of Lagos as an ethnic melting point is under threat, and the world is watching the bigotry from that part of the country”, he stated.
